RED OS has become more protected

RED SOFT, the developer of the operating system RED OS, announced the security patches eliminating the Meltdown vulnerability, which was found in the processors Intel, AMD and ARM64 in early January this year. Updates for the operating system RED OS are available since January 9, 2018.

The mentioned vulnerability is of a hardware nature, therefore software modification can only correct it indirectly and probably will decrease system performance. However, this reduction depends directly on the processor utilization level, and for ordinary workstations the performance drop is minimal and practically not felt.

RED SOFT experts are also working on updates that will neutralise the vulnerabilities CVE-2017-5753 and CVE-2017-5715, known under the common name Specter. This type of error allows to break the isolation of application memory. Soon appropriate updates for the RED OS will be provided to users.
